Student Library
education and wants to encourage our children and youth to use their time productively in fun learning activities rather than watching TV programmes and cartoons, playing computer games or streaming the internet futilely. It is unfortunate that so many of the youth today spend up to hours a day on electrical gadgets and devises which more often than not involve many things which are harmful and also disliked in the Deen.
We are very fortunate as Muslims that in Islam there is guidance and knowledge in an endless number of interesting and fascinating topics and subjects. Buying books can be expensive, and so ECYS has set up a small library of English Islamic books on all types of topics, and students enrolled at one of our Madrasahs is entitled to apply for a library card, which they can use to loan books from the library. We ask parents to encourage their children to visit our library regularly and spend more time to read and learn. If we do not have a book you require, we will endouver to attain it if possible.
Students of another Madrasah and adults within Essex can also apply for a library card to loan books.
If you can contact publishers and bookshops to donate books to us then this will also be of great help.
Spreading knowledge is also a great Sadaqah Jaariyah. The Prophet Muhammad said in a Hadith:
“When a person dies all his deeds come to an end except for three types: Sadaqah Jaariyah, knowledge of Islam from which other continue to benefit, and a righteous child who makes Dua for him.
